What data this site collects and what it does with it.
In one sentence: what you write in the form reaches Dr. Jacobo's office by email and nobody else. This site does not store or sell your data, and does not measure what you write.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Dr. Joan Javier Jacobo R., surgical oncologist, medical license (exequátur) no. 1292, practicing at HEMA (Santiago), Clínica Abreu (Santo Domingo) and Centro Médico Siglo 21 (San Francisco de Macorís), Dominican Republic. Contact for any data matter: info@jacobomd.com.
What is collected and why
The evaluation form asks for your name, a phone or WhatsApp number and, optionally, what was found, the location you prefer and your country. They are used for one thing: so the practice can reply and arrange your consultation. They are not used for advertising or added to mailing lists.
If you write on WhatsApp, by phone or email, what you share is treated for the same purpose. Medical studies (ultrasounds, biopsies, labs) are not uploaded to this site: they are sent directly to us on WhatsApp or by email, and only the team evaluating your case sees them.
Where it goes and for how long
The form submission is transmitted encrypted and arrives as an email in the office mailbox, hosted on servers contracted by the doctor. This website keeps no copies. The email is kept for as long as the care relationship lasts or until you ask for its deletion, except for what the law requires to be kept in the clinical record.
Providers involved: the website hosting company, the office email service and, if you use them, WhatsApp (Meta) and the office booking engine, each with its own policy. Data is not shared with third parties for their own purposes.
What is measured and what is not
To know how many people visit the site, which pages they read and whether an ad led to an appointment or a message, this site and the booking system use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement. They record facts such as «someone booked an appointment» or «someone tapped the WhatsApp button», never the content of what you write, and they do not record your session.
No remarketing lists or personalized advertising are used: no one will show you ads because you read about a condition.
For that measurement, Google stores the cookies _ga and _ga_* (up to 13 months) and _gcl_au (90 days) in your browser. The site also stores your light or dark mode preference. You can block or delete those cookies in your browser, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and the site will work the same.
The booking system
If you book at citas.jacobomd.com, the system asks for what the appointment needs: name, email, phone, location or format, and date. If you pay online, the payment is processed by PayPal, which does not share your card details with the practice. Appointment data is kept in the practice system for as long as the care relationship lasts and is handled under the same rules as this policy.
Your rights
Under Dominican Republic Law 172-13 on personal data protection, you may request access to your data, correct it, delete it or object to its processing by writing to info@jacobomd.com. Requests are answered within a reasonable time and free of charge. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may contact the competent authority. Patients from other countries keep the rights their own law grants them.
Minors and changes
The form is intended for adults or for someone acting on behalf of a minor as a parent or guardian.
This policy is revised whenever the way data is handled changes. The date of the current version is at the bottom of this page.
