These are two days of theory, case analysis and live practice under the academic direction of Dr. Joan Jacobo. The training is endorsed by the Dominican Society of Surgical Oncology, with StarMed and Grupo DJS Solutions, and it is intended for surgeons, interventional radiologists, endocrinologists and other specialists in thyroid nodular disease. The course is taught in Spanish.

Who it is for

For the specialist who already sees nodules and wants to treat them.

This training is designed for the physician who already manages thyroid nodular disease and wants to add radiofrequency ablation to their practice: surgeons, interventional radiologists, endocrinologists and other specialists who see nodules every day and who today manage those cases with surveillance or with surgery.

Over two days the technique is covered from theory to procedure: the management of thyroid nodular disease with radiofrequency ablation, the analysis of real cases discussed with the doctor who treated them, and live practice, which is what limits the number of places.

The second edition takes place at Hospital Especializado de Medicina Avanzada, in Santiago de los Caballeros, endorsed by the Dominican Society of Surgical Oncology and with the participation of StarMed and Grupo DJS Solutions. The program is organized in three parts across two days.

Who directs it.

Surgical oncologist trained in general surgery in the Dominican Republic and in surgical oncology in Mexico. Trained in radiofrequency ablation in 2023 with Dr. Juan Pablo Dueñas (Colombia) and refined the technique in 2024 at Asan Medical Center in Seoul with Dr. Jung Hwan Baek. Led Clínica Abreu's first radiofrequency ablation session and presented his case series at the 43rd International Congress of the Dominican College of Surgeons.
